New Orleans-Style Band Program

When the developers of a new live music venue on the Las Vegas Strip approached Altus Entertainment, they had an ambitious vision: to create a one-of-a-kind New Orleans-themed entertainment experience that would captivate visitors from the moment they stepped inside. Their goal was to feature authentic, high-energy brass bands performing three sets per day, complete with second line processions leading guests from the Strip into the venue, immersing them in the infectious spirit of the Big Easy.

However, Las Vegas presented a challenge—while it boasts a world-class entertainment scene, the city had a limited number of musicians trained in traditional New Orleans brass band music. Rather than compromise on quality, Altus Entertainment devised an innovative solution. We brought in four veteran musicians directly from New Orleans, each a master of the genre, to lead an intensive three-month training program for 50 Las Vegas-based musicians.

This hands-on program not only refined their technical skills but also instilled the cultural essence and performance energy that makes second line music so unique. The transformation was remarkable. By the end of the program, Las Vegas had a newly cultivated pool of top-tier brass musicians, ready to bring the sound and soul of New Orleans to the Strip.

With this incredible roster of talent, Altus Entertainment was able to assemble an almost limitless combination of bands, ensuring fresh and dynamic performances for every set. The result was a truly immersive experience—vibrant second line parades down the Strip, guests waving colorful umbrellas and handkerchiefs, and an atmosphere of celebration that transported audiences straight to Bourbon Street.

This project showcased Altus Entertainment’s ability to not only curate world-class entertainment but also develop the talent needed to bring a vision to life. By blending expertise, creativity, and strategic problem-solving, we helped establish an unforgettable entertainment experience that left a lasting impact on the Las Vegas live music scene.
