Celebrity talent can be great for many reasons.
10,000 Maniacs emerged in the early 1980s and quickly became trailblazers of the college‑rock scene. Their mix of literate lyrics, pop‑minded hooks, and richly layered arrangements helped shift the sound of FM radio through the late ’80s and ’90s. The group’s breakthrough arrived with 1987’s In My Tribe, an album later named by Rolling Stone as one of that decade’s 100 finest releases. They have since added six more studio records to their catalog, producing enduring favorites like “These Are Days,” “More Than This,” “Candy Everybody Wants,” and “Trouble Me.”
The current roster includes Dennis Drew on keyboards, Jerome Augustyniak on drums, Jeff Erickson on guitar, Steve Gustafson on bass, and lead vocalist/violinist Mary Ramsey.
